Description
"Tussen Licht en Lucht" (Between Light and Air) is the debut album by Dutch rapper Typhoon from 2006. This album features Typhoon's raw hip-hop sound, but also features his signature lyrics. The album includes tracks like "Zo Niet Mij," "Wind Waait," and "Nieuw Leven." With this album, Typhoon broke through in the Dutch hip-hop scene. He followed it up with his album "Lobi Da Basi," which marked his definitive breakthrough.
The production of Tussen Licht en Lucht was largely handled by Dries Bijlsma. On tracks like "Zo Niet Mij," "Sprokkeldagen," and "Zendeghi," you can hear how the chemistry between Dries and Typhoon pushes both of them to excel. The rapper was also supported by artists like Blaxtar, Sticks, Dinopha, Giovanca, and trumpeter Jan Wessels.
